DVA Initial Liability Claim (ILC) Referral Pathway

Referring a veteran for a DVA Initial Liability Claim (ILC) Assessment with Dr Zarrar Khan Psychiatry is simple:

Expert psychiatric assessments for DVA Initial Liability Claims (ILC), Independent medical examinations for veterans’ mental health, Specialist psychiatric reports for DVA claim approvals, Helping veterans with PTSD, depression, and anxiety claims
    • GP, treating psychiatrist/psychologist

    • Lawyer or legal representative

    • Ex-service organisation (ESO) advocates

    • Direct DVA referral

  • Please include:

    • DVA referral form including TRN number and DVA File number

    • Relevant service and medical records (if available but not necessary)

    • Any prior psychiatric or psychological reports (if available)

  • Referrals can be sent via:

    • Via email at referrals@drzarrarkhan.com

    • Online referral form (coming soon on this website)

    • Our team will contact the veteran directly within days of receiving the referral

    • Appointments are offered within 1–2 weeks

    • Veterans may choose between telehealth (nationwide) or if available, in-person (Perth, WA)

    • Our psychiatrist conducts the assessment

    • A detailed medico-legal report is submitted directly to DVA, within 14 days of the assessment

    • Billing is handled between Dr Zarrar Khan Psychiatry and DVA—veterans pay nothing
